Double Knitting on August 4th, 10:30-1:30 – $40

Do you suffer from Second Sock Syndrome? Interested in learning how to make reversible items such as hats, socks and mittens? If you answered yes to either of those questions, this is the class for you! During the class students will learn how to knit two identical items at the same time as well as how to make reversible knitwear. If you’re wondering what kinds of double knitting patterns are out there…I’m a big fan of this cowl, these reversible mittens come in sizes for the whole family, and all you bike lovers can make a reversible bicycle hat!

Double Knitting is great for reversible fair isle patterns!

This is an advanced beginner/intermediate class and students must know how to cast-on, knit, purl, knit in the round, increase and decrease.

Materials: Students must bring 100 yards of fingering weight or DK weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors, needles for your preferred method of knitting in the round (dpns, 2 circulars or 1 long circular needle) that match your yarn gauge.

Cast-Ons: August 4th, 2:00-4:00 – $30

Have you ever passed over a pattern because it called for a specific Cast-On that you didn’t know how to do? Or come across a pattern with a Provisional Cast-On and were frustrated trying to teach yourself? This class will focus on provisional cast-ons and closed in-the-round cast-ons such as the Middle Eastern Cast-On and Judy’s Magic Cast-On, since those are the toughest to learn on your own!

Laurel’s Cast-Ons class is a beginner level and students should have a basic knowledge of knitting.

Materials: 100 yards of worsted weight yarn, a length of scrap yarn in a contrasting color, 2 circular needles and your preferred needles for knitting in the round (dpns, 2 circulars, or 1 long circular) that match your yarn gauge.

Both of these classes offer skills that would be great additions to any knitter’s “bag of tricks” and will open up a new world of possible patterns! Registered students receive 15% off class materials.

Stash would like to extend a special offer to students: Sign up for both classes by July 25th and receive 20% off. Call it a knitter’s Stay-cation or retreat and make a day of it!

There are a limited number of spaces for these information-packed classes, so call to reserve your spot today: 541-753-9276
