The air is turning crisp and the leaves are changing! That means that perfect weather for wearing handknits is right around the corner!
Sheila has designed this gorgeous hat to help you learn the art of mosaic knitting. You’ll only be working with one color per row, but the mosaic knitting technique makes the hat look far more complicated and intricate.
Come join Sheila on October 21st from 12:30-3:30pm. The cost is $35 and the pattern, Transit of Venus, will be provided.
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner/Intermediate – Students must know how to cast-on, knit, purl, work in the round, and do decreases
Skills Learned: How to use 2 colors to do mosaic knitting while working on a hat.
Materials: 120 yards each of 2 contrasting colors of Heavy Worsted/Aran weight yarn, 16″ circular needle in size US 10.5 (or size to obtain gauge), double pointed needles in size 10.5 (or size to obtain gauge), stitch markers (10 if you’d like to mark every pattern repeat or 1 to mark the beginning of your round). Stash Recommendation: Imperial Columbia yarn, Addi Lace circular needles and Hiya Hiya double pointed needles. Pattern for Transit of Venus hat is included.
