Fall is just around the corner and with that comes cozy knitwear. Many knitters look at a pattern that includes cables and feel intimidated. Cables look really impressive when they’re done, but aren’t as tough as they look!
Come face your fears about cables and learn how to cable while making an adorable mug cozy!
Cozy Cables is on Sunday September 9 from 12:30-3:30. The cost for the class is $35 and includes enough yarn to complete your mug cozy.

I know it’s hard to think about wearing handknit hats when we’re having such beautiful weather, but chilly temps will inevitably return and why not get a jump start on cold weather accessories!
Pattern: Fine Fella by Irish Girlie Knits
Yarn: Swans Island Worsted in Red Coral
If you read my review of Swans Island yarn a while back, it should come as no surprise that knitting with this yarn was a real treat. It’s incredibly soft, has wonderful stitch definition, and subtle color variations which make for a wonderful knitting experience and a lovely FO!
Carrie of Irish Girlie Knits does a wonderful job with her patterns. She provides both written instructions and charts and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Fine Fella is a one-size-fits-most pattern due to the forgiving nature of the ribbing. I love the crown decreases and that the cable continues all the way to the top in a neat and tidy fashion.
Stop on into Stash and grab a Fine Fella pattern, some Swans Island yarn and getting knitting those winter accessories!
Stash Enhancer Liz
There is a new Kollage Feed Your Creativity kit sample knit up and on display at the shop! The Keegan Baby Hat and Socks are an easy knit and perfect for building up that baby gift stash. (Or is it just me that does that? Anyone?)
This darling set is designed by none other than Irishgirlie Knits, designer of the Dancette Shawl that is part of our current spring Knit-a-long. The pattern is easy to follow and comes with both charted and written directions. If you are new to cabling, this would be a perfect beginner project. Instructions are given for newborn, 3-6 months, and 6-12 months sizes.
The yarn included in the kit is Kollage’s Sock-a-licous, a fingering weight merino, nylon, silk blend that is machine washable (so important for baby knits as new moms generally do not have time for hand washing themselves much less hand knits!). It comes in a great range of colors, and one skein (354 yards) is enough to make two sets of the hat and booties, even in the largest size. At just $25 for the yarn and pattern, this is a great value.
Come in and check out these adorable kits for yourself!
